5% - A world away from where I'd like to be

So I found this cool widget online and thought I'd try it out. It basically shows all of the different countries I've visited - a bit of a wank, really, but kind of cool all the same. Try it...who's got the highest percentage? I'm guessing Edwina, but she doesn't read my blog...so maybe Mon?

Dad and I have travelled 16% - mind you, I only ticked the States in the USA that we'd actually visited - unlike some!

Great to see everyone's well on their way to world domination...looks like my parents are leading the pack, after visiting most of the countries I have, in addition to a few extras in Europe, a heap in the middle east and North Africa, and a handful throughout the Pacific Ocean.

Oh, and my Mum would never accuse me of cheating...she's too much of a shweetie - hey Mum!?

Despite the widget's flagrantly US-centric view (segmenting US states as part of a nation-based survey!!!), it still counts as a single nation as part of the percentage, whether you've been to 1 or 50 states. That's why I coloured in the whole thing...

So who can top 16%????

I have visited 13%!

A fab link Stephen - well done!

I stand corrected, sorry Steve :-(

Great to see you posting a comment! Maybe Turkey will push the percentage up a wee bit??

Mum
No need to be sorry! This blog needs more credibility checks, otherwise the bullshit meter will go through the roof. x

Angus
Bondi, Rose Bay and Vaucluse don't count as nation states.

And only 11 per cent for me. I'm not as worldly as i used to be!!
Although the islands of Micronesia weren't included so i'm taking myself to 11.5 per cent (despite the fact they are territories of the US)

Edwina said...

I have been forced to retract the 5 per cent on the basis Guam is not a country but a non governing territory of the United States.

As Belly pointed out, under the Guam Organic Act of 1950, which established Guam as an unincorporated organized territory of the United States, the people of
Micronesia were granted United States citizenship.

Therefore technically, i'm back to 11 per cent.

Some further developments from our resident woman of the world, Edwina:

Apparently, Guam's inhabitants are citizens of the US, although they are not permitted to vote in US presidential elections.

Where does this leave us? No idea, but at least everyone knows she's been to Guam.

And Saipan.. right next door.

And can anyone else tell i'm supposed to doing a uni assignment today and i'm not!!

Even more pathetic given i'll see you at your house in about 10 minutes Belly so this whole communicating by blog thing is a little irrelevant.

Um.... Belly's house?
